If I would like to make the best compliment to the singer, it would be: he has his own style.
You hear him singing, and you do not even to know the song - it's Daniel Lavoie.

Comments:
Marie-Christine Bleu - Journalist: This is one of the first opportunities when I saw my stars, my singers next to people like Peter Gabriel and Sting.
Cutting Rankur, the former manager: At the international market Daniel is equal to Sting. I saw him twice on stage, one beside the other, one near the other, one behind the other and so on ... Daniel has the same talent like that guy. He sings as good as he does.
Marie-Christine Bleu: The final song of Bob Marley, when they sang together around the same microphone, which they divided among themselves, there was also Bruce Springtin! It is as if we were allowed, and we too, at the North American continent for quite a friendly footing. We are all worth the same.

 • 1990 - The holiday dedicated to Daniel (during the festival Francofolies in Montreal). With the participation of: Luc De Larochellière, Marie Philippe, Hart Rouge, Maurane.
Daniel is a french-manitobe singer, the most famous one since the days of Louis Riel. Since that day in the 70's, with the «Jeunesse Oblige» TV emission, Daniel became the story of our popular songs, the precious legacy of Francophonie. Valuable, because he is a single copy and the original one. Daniel is perfect with the simple songs with no excesses, but they are so expressive as played by a piano, as well as with parade dressed skillful orchestration. What are the best words you can find to celebrate Daniel Lavoie, to tell him again about our loyalty and devotion, than these days during Festival Francofolies in Montreal? Luc de La Rochellière, Marie Phillippe, Maurane, Philippe Lafontaine, and many other artists will attend this hearty feast.

February 24 - la Place-des-Arts. Opera «Nelligan». It is not clear why the opera «Nelligan» (libretto by Michel Tremblay, music by André Gagnon) is not so well known as «Notre Dame de Paris» and «Don Giovanni».
