In 1975 Daniel Lavoie releases his first album, «A court terme», which gets a big success in France. The Song «J`ai quitté mon île» became popular and gained success in Brazil and Portugal (under the name «Deixei mihaterra»). 

Daniel: The first disc, which I recorded, had become some success but nothing special. There is a song from it, remembered till this day, which was included in the «collective unconscious», if you will, everybody knows it, and yet it has never been successful on the radio, was not what it could be. Surprisingly, but over the years I discovered that Quebec choirs sing this song and everybody knows it.
