In 1975 Daniel Lavoie released his first album «A court terme» which was a great success in France.
Strangely he had to wait for the release of his second album, «Berceuse pour un lion», to get the recognition of his countrymen.
His first recordings in 1973 and 1974 have gone unheeded. If his first album created with Gilles Valiquette had only some success in Quebec, the song «J'ai quitté mon île» was released in France and was a huge success in Brazil and Portugal (called «Deixei mihaterra»). After the tour with performances in small provincial halls Daniel Lavoie settled in Saint-Côme de Beauce to compose his second album, included a few songs that will be frequently broadcasted on Quebec radio: «Berceuse pour un lion», «La vérité» and «Dan l'temps des animaux». Daniel Lavoie finally has successfully penetrated the radio.
